Oh, what a night! Tables were draped in beach-toned linen, the soft lighting complemented the upbeat beach music as guests wandered through the three ballrooms at the Holiday Inn Lehigh Valley in Fogelsville to sample a variety of delicious fare - from chocolate covered fruit to shrimp kabobs and lobster bisque. Layers of tiramisu were washed down with sips of chardonnay, thick and nutty espresso and refreshing soft drinks. Some guests grabbed their partners and headed to the dance floor, swaying to the likes of The Beach Boys and Jim Buffet. Couples and friends sorted through a prop bin near the photo booth, laughing and joking as they posed with sombreros and cowboy hats for a souvenir photo. Throughout the night, guests surveyed the auction tables, bidding on luxurious spa treatments, wine baskets, exquisite jewelry and restaurant gift certificates - all generously donated by area restaurants, businesses and entrepreneurs. The live auction offered guests a chance to bid on a private cooking class, custom six-course meals, airline tickets, advertising opportunities, a private tour of Just Born, lunch with U.S. Congressman Charlie Dent, and a chance to be a film extra in an upcoming production by Zeke Zelker. Teams rallied together to compete in the Beach Relay. With water goggles covering their eyes and flippers on their feet, the teams cheered each other on as they waddled and rushed across the dance floor.
