Expect Some 'Surprises' at April 1 Beach

Attendees at this year's Beach Bash and Splash at Cabaret & Cuisine 2011 can expect some surprises. After all, it will be held on April Fools' Day.

The April 1 event will be held at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, 1-78 and Route 100 in Fogelsville, from 6 to 10 p.m. Bobby Gunther Walsh, morning news host for News Talk 790 WAEB, serves as honorary chair. Proceeds from the event will benefit the programs and services of the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley.

A wide range of delectable hors d'oeuvres, scrumptious dishes and mouth-watering desserts will be featured from the Lehigh Valley's most-loved caterers and restaurants: Bonefish Grill; Buca di Beppo; Carrabba's; Catering by Karen Hunter; Edible Arrangements; Granny Schmidt's; Hotel Bethlehem; Kakes by Kelly; North Star Catering; Northampton Community College Culinary Arts students; Noshes and Nibbles; Royal Gourmet Foods; and Zoup. Wine, beer, soda and water are included with the ticket price. A cash bar will be available.

Freddie Frederick Jr. Entertainment will play the songs of summer and Reflections Creative Photography will take souvenir photos. Games and crazy contests will round out the theme.

Last, but not least, more than 130 live and silent auction items will be available for bid, including: A two nights' stay at the Hilton on W. 57th Street in New York with bus transportation and dinner gift card; a spa getaway package and lift ticket vouchers for Bear Creek Mountain Resort; a private tour for six at Just Born candy company; a John Hardy black onyx and diamond necklace from Bixler's Jewelers valued at $800; a dinner party for eight prepared and served in your home by Chef Susan Roth; golf packages; wine baskets; restaurant gift certificates; jewelry and more.
