The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley's training classes were greatly enhanced on Wednesday, June 2, by the donation of a Resusci® Anne Complete Training Unit from the Pennsylvania Automotive Association (PAA) and the National Automobile Dealers Charitable Foundation (NADCF). The donation was sponsored by Scott Cars, Inc. in Allentown.

Darren Miller, regional manager at PAA, together with Andrew Scott, president of Scott Cars, Inc., presented the CPR training manikin and accessory supplies to Red Cross representatives Robin Trexler, manager-preparedness and training fulfillment, and Sandy Gaspar, director of development & community affairs. The presentation occurred at Scott Chevrolet located at 3333 Lehigh Street in Allentown. Scott Cars also holds franchises with Cadillac, Hummer, Mazda, Saab, and Volvo.

"We're delighted to be able to sponsor this donation from PAA to our local Red Cross chapter," says Andrew Scott, president of Scott Cars, Inc. "Resusci Anne is a valuable tool in the cardiopulmonary resuscitation training programs the Red Cross offers, and I have no doubt that 'she' will be instrumental in saving lives."

The donated CPR unit signals the trainee, telling when the right pressure has been applied in the right spot or if the trainee is breathing correctly into the victim's mouth. With this training tool, CPOR students learn the "feel" of giving quick, lifesaving emergency treatment.

The Pennsylvania Automotive Association represents more than 950 new car and truck dealers in Pennsylvania. These dealers are able to help local nonprofit organizations in their communities by donating Resusci Anne training units through the NADCF. PAA dealers have donated more than a million dollars worth of CPR training units to organizations across the state since 1990.
