Red Cross to Honor Carbon Volunteers at
June 23 Luncheon

The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley will honor its Carbon County volunteers at a luncheon Tuesday, June 23, from noon to 1:30 p.m., at Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (Grande Room), 397 Hemlock Drive in Lehighton.

The formal part of the program will begin at about 12:45 p.m. and will include presentation of 5-, 10- and 15-year service anniversary pins, the Extraordinary Volunteer Award to Connie Herman of Jim Thorpe, and Certificates of Appreciation to area businesses for their support.

Addressing the group will be: Chairman of the Board George Hlavac, Executive Director John Hughes, COO Bob Duld and Carbon County Branch Manager Sharon Kendig.

The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley serves nearly 690,000 residents of Carbon, Lehigh and Northampton counties. Last year the Red Cross provided health and safety education training; Lifeline, a personal response service for seniors; and emergency relief to more than 24,000 greater Lehigh Valley residents.
