Red Cross Announces December Blood Collections in Carbon County

The American Red Cross will conduct blood collections on the following days and times in Carbon County:

Thursday, Dec. 10, from 1 to 6 p.m., at Palmerton Borough Hall, 443 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton; refreshment sponsor is East Penn Bank;

Monday, Dec. 21, from 1 to 6 p.m., at Zion United Church of Christ, 225 Iron & Second streets, Lehighton; and

Monday, Dec. 28, from 1 to 6 p.m., at Split Rock Resort, Lake Drive, Lake Harmony.

Every presenting donor in December will automatically be entered to win one of four incentives:

-- 50" Sony Bravia LCD HDTV
-- Apple iPod Shuffle
-- Garmin GPS
-- Digital Camera

Blood donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and in good health. In Pennsylvania, 16-year-olds may donate blood provided they bring a signed parental consent form to the blood drive. Parental consent forms can be obtained from local high schools prior to the blood drives or directly from nursing supervisors at Red Cross drives.
