First Annual Tune-Up Red Cross Charity Golf Tournament Draws Field of 52

Fifty-two golfers drove, putted and chipped their way at the First Annual Tune-Up Red Cross Charity Golf Tournament on May 15 at Blue Ridge Country Club in Palmerton.

Proceeds from the event will be used to assist with Red Cross programs and services in Carbon County.

The event began with an impressive demonstration by 2002 World Long Drive Champion Carl Wolter. Wolter, of Lehighton, offered tips on how to swing a club to get the best distance on a golf ball, emphasized the importance of foot placement and balance and demonstrated his strength and skill at the tee.
