Under perfect skies, 105 golfers drove, chipped and putted to raise more than $25,000 at the 26th Annual Red Cross Charity Golf Tournament July 28 at Brookside Country Club. Proceeds from the event help the Greater Lehigh Valley Red Cross continue to provide local disaster relief services and lifesaving programs and services to residents in Carbon, Lehigh and Northampton counties.

The Haffner-Trinkle Foundation, Morgan Stanley-The Haddad Group and The Gehman-Yanders Group from the Allentown office returned for the second year as the tournament’s classic sponsors.

Ted Rosenberger also returned with a spectacular helicopter ball drop following tournament play. Rosenberger, co-founder, president and CEO of Target Software in Allentown, piloted his Rolls-Royce powered Enstrom 480B helicopter and dropped 300 golf balls onto a makeshift green in a 50/50 cash contest to benefit the local Red Cross. Onboard the helicopter Al Haddad and Brad Greenawald, board and golf committee members, tossed balls onto the green’s bulls-eye. Of the 300 balls, it was lucky ball #23 – purchased by Kutztown resident Tom Lessel – that landed closest to the target. "We're so appreciative of Ted's generous contribution of his amazing piloting skills and helicopter to this successful fund-raiser for the Red Cross," said Greenawald, financial advisor for Smith Barney. "It’s not every day that you see a helicopter ‘up close and personal.’ It’s so exciting. I can't thank Ted and the staff at Brookside enough for making this event so special."

Other major sponsors included: Capital BlueCross; East Penn Bank; The Morning Call; Highmark Blue Shield; Lehigh Valley Honda/Vinart; PPL Electric Utilities; Tallman, Hudders & Sorrentino; and United World Travel.
