BETHLEHEM, Pa., March 11, 2008 - The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley has set up a shelter at the Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Company station on Stoke Park Road for residents evacuated from the Bridle Path Woods apartments and townhouses in Hanover Township early this morning.

Residents in 35 units were evacuated due to a water main break and possible gas main break.

At 10:24 a.m., 25 people were currently at the Red Cross-staffed shelter at the fire house located at 300 Stoke Park Road in Hanover Township. Red Cross disaster workers are meeting the needs of those affected by providing hot beverages, snacks, breakfast and lunch. Red Cross is also arranging for medication replacement for residents who are unable to get back into their homes.

The shelter will remain open until all needs are met.
