The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley board of directors elected the following officers for fiscal year 2008-2009. Elected to a one-year term, effective July 23, 2008, are:

Chairman: George Hlavac, attorney and chairman of the labor and employment department at Tallman, Hudders & Sorrentino;

Vice Chair: Scott Friedman, president & COO, swb&r;

Treasurer: Desty Bonstein, vice president-Embassy Bank;

Secretary: Dawn Washington, director-Ways to Work Family Loan Program, Family Answers, Inc.

The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley serves more than 690,000 residents of Carbon, Lehigh and Northampton counties.
