Palmerton Resident Named Carbon County Branch Manager

Sharon Kendig of Palmerton joined the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley as manager of the agency’s Carbon County office, effective July 1.

Kendig is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Carbon County office located at 129 N. First Street, Lehighton. Her duties include recruiting and retaining volunteers to assist in providing health and safety programs and disaster relief assistance; overseeing blood drives; fund raising; and increasing donor resources.

Kendig was former manager of more than 150 HUD-subsidized apartments for the elderly and disabled in Northampton (Pa.) and Hellertown (Pa.) for the past 18 years. She brings more than 30 years of experience in management, sales, marketing, administration and customer service to the Red Cross.

She holds an associate’s degree in business administration from Lehigh Carbon Community College in Schnecksville.
