The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees and the American Red Cross are teaming up to save lives. Participants in either of April’s blood drives in Carbon County will be entered into a drawing to win two free tickets to one of the following home games: May 12, 25, 26, 27, and June 2. Following are the Red Cross blood drives scheduled for this month:

Wednesday, April 18, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Lehighton Recreation Center, 243 S. Eighth Street, Lehighton; and

Thursday, April 26, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall, West 10th Street, Jim Thorpe.

Winners of the tickets will be entitled to an All-You-Can-Eat including hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, soda, and water, as well as access to a special express line. Ticket holders will also get prime seating behind home plate in the first few rows of the second deck at PNC Field. Games include sold out weekends, and even a special treat of fireworks and special entertainment for some dates. Winners will also receive VIP Treatment including a behind-the-scenes peek at a Yankees Franchise operation.

“We are thrilled at the opportunity to team up with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees,” said Northeastern Pennsylvania Blood Services Chief Executive Officer Tony Ferlenda. “This creates an exciting opportunity for our terrific blood donors to watch great baseball, eat delicious food, and help save lives by giving blood.”
