| Feel the Love in February: Show You Care, Donate Blood on Feb. 13 or Feb. 21 | ![]() |
What Valentine's Day gift is there better than the gift of life? There is no better time than February to give. You're invited to roll up your sleeve and donate blood. For your efforts you just might be one of two lucky people to have your gas or electric bill paid for a month, up to $500.
According to Tony Ferlenda, American Red Cross Blood Services, Northeastern Pennsylvania (NEPA) Chief Executive Officer, the need for blood is constant, and volunteer blood donors contribute to nearly all the blood used for patient care in the United States. "If all who are eligible to donate would do so on a regular basis (three to four times per year), blood needs could be met and shortages could become a thing of the past," Ferlenda said.
The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley will hold a blood drive on:
You must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health. It must be 56 days since your last blood donation. For more information, contact the Carbon County office of the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley at (610) 377-2100.
Unable to donate on Feb. 13 or Feb. 21? Call American Red Cross at 1-800-GIVE LIFE to schedule an appointment at your convenience.
