The need for blood knows no age, no season. Help save a life this summer by giving blood. Be sure to ask about the special incentives like gas card and IPod raffles, and T-shirts for special blood drives!

The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley encourages residents to donate blood this month at one of these locations in Carbon County:

Wednesday, June 14, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Blue Mountain Health System, Sixth and Iron Streets, Lehighton;

Thursday, June 22, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall, West 10th Street, Jim Thorpe; and

Saturday, June 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Palmerton Borough Hall, 455 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton.

Anyone who is at least 17 years old, who weighs at least 110 pounds, and is in good health may give blood. For more information, contact the Carbon County office of the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley at (610) 377-2100 or call 1-800-GIVE LIFE.
