Red Cross to Hold Community Event at Lehigh Valley Mall March 18

The Greater Lehigh Valley Red Cross will be “the center of it all!” at the Lehigh Valley Mall in Whitehall on Saturday, March 18, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Red Cross will hold a community awareness event in the mall’s main court area, lower level to highlight its programs and services in celebration of March is Red Cross Month. Red Cross representatives will be available to speak with individuals about health and safety training, volunteer opportunities, home and workplace safety, and the agency’s link with service members and their families. In addition, Red Cross nurse volunteers will conduct blood pressure screenings.
Children’s activities include: a visit by Scrubby Bear, who will demonstrate proper hand washing; a chance to dress in Red Cross apparel and have a souvenir photo taken; and a coloring activity. Activity booklets, mini flashlights and rub-on tattoos will be handed out.
Outside, near the main mall entrance, people can tour the Red Cross emergency response vehicle and speak with local disaster response volunteers.
The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley serves more than 660,000 residents of Carbon, Lehigh and Northampton counties.
