Volunteers Needed for Red Cross
Lehigh River Relay Run on July 17

The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley is seeking volunteers, trained first-aid workers and cyclists for the 15th annual Red Cross Lehigh River Relay Run on Sunday, July 17. The fund-raising event is held along a 23-mile stretch of the Lehigh River Canal and Towpath Trail.

Volunteers are needed for two-hour shifts to direct runners and distribute water at the following locations and starting times: Sand Island, Bethlehem, at 6:30 a.m.; Freemansburg Lockhouse, Freemansburg at 7 a.m.; Chetwyn Park, Bethlehem at 7:30 a.m.; Hugh Moore Park, Easton at 7:30 a.m.; and Riverside Park, Easton at 8 a.m.

First-aid trained individuals are also needed along the route, as well as cyclists to ensure the safety of runners along the course.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Volunteers will receive a free T-shirt, food and beverages at the race finish at Riverside Park in Easton.
