Help the Red Cross save lives. Take a course from the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley, and prepare yourself in case you are faced with an emergency.
Following are the upcoming August classes being held at the Red Cross Carbon Office in Lehighton. For a complete list of Red Cross summer classes, pick up a schedule at the Lehighton office or visit www.redcrosslv.org.
Adult CPR – August 16-17, from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. – For individuals who need adult CPR training only, this hands-on skills training prepares participants to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults. This course also includes training in the use of Automated External Defibrillators. This course applies to victims over 8 years of age. Fee: $40.
CPR for the Professional Rescuer – August 27, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. – For individuals who have a job-related duty to respond in an emergency, this hands-on training will teach participants the skills necessary to respond to emergency situations involving adult, child and infant victims. Participants will learn the skills of rescue breathing, conscious/unconscious choking, one- and
two-person CPR and use of an Automated External Defibrillator. Rescuers will also learn how to use a pocket mask, a bag valve mask and alternative methods for opening the airway of a victim
with possible head or spinal injuries. The course does not include first aid training. Fee: $70.
Classes will be held at the Red Cross office located at 129 N. First Street, Lehighton. Textbooks are included in the price of the courses and will be distributed on the day of the class.

First Street, Lehighton, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; or at the Red Cross office at 2200 Avenue A, Bethlehem, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Registration is payable by check to “American Red Cross” or credit card (MasterCard, VISA or American Express).
