The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley will hold the following Health and Safety classes at its Carbon Office in Lehighton in April:

Adult CPR with First Aid - April 13 and 14, from 6 p.m.-10 p.m.; 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. (must attend both evenings). Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize, and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. The course covers first aid and adult CPR and training in the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED). Fee: $50

First Aid Basics - April 9, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Participants will become familiar with how to recognize and care for victims of illness and sudden injuries. This class does not include CPR/AED. Fee: $32

Classes will be held at the Red Cross office located at 129 N. First Street, Lehighton. Textbooks are included in the price of the courses and will be distributed on the day of the class.

First Street, Lehighton, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; or at the Red Cross office at 2200 Avenue A, Bethlehem, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Registration is payable by check to "American Red Cross" or credit card (MasterCard, VISA or American Express).
