Plenty of Opportunities to Donate Blood This Month

Carbon County residents have plenty of opportunities this month to roll up their sleeves and donate blood.

The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley will hold blood drives on the following dates and locations:

• Oct. 12, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Blue Mountain Health System Conference Center, Sixth & Iron Streets, Lehighton;

• Oct. 12, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Palmerton Borough Hall, 455 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton;

• Oct. 20, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall, West 10th Street, Jim Thorpe; and

• Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Split Rock, Galleria Building, Lake Drive, Lake Harmony. Anyone who is at least 17 years old, who weighs at least 110 pounds, and is in good health can give blood. For more information, call the Red Cross at 1-800-GIVE LIFE.
