Red Cross Clean-Up Supplies Available Free of Charge to Area Flood Victims

Residents whose homes received flood damage in Lehigh, Northampton and Carbon counties can get a free Red Cross Disaster Clean-Up Kit to help in their mop-up efforts. Each household is allowed one free kit.

Beginning today (9/23), kits can be picked up at three Red Cross locations until further notice:

• Red Cross Service Center, St. Anthony’s Youth Center, 901 Washington Street, Easton; Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Red Cross (Main Office), 2200 Avenue A, Bethlehem; Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Saturdays, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, and;

• Red Cross Branch Office, 129 N. First Street, Lehighton; Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Other fixed distribution sites will be announced in the next day or two. In addition, volunteers in Red Cross vehicles are canvassing area neighborhoods to distribute clean-up supplies.

Each kit contains:

• push broom
• wet mop
• spring mop handle
• squeegee/scrubber with handle
• corn broom
• 2-1/4 gallon bucket
• plastic scrub brush
• large sponge
• Lysol disinfectant
• liquid cleaner
• liquid bleach
• household rubber gloves
• garbage bags
