The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley will offer presentations on how to be prepared for any kind of disaster on Aug. 7 and 10. The presentations are free and open to the public.

“Together We Prepare: Preparing for the Unexpected” will cover the five action steps to better prepare individuals at home and at the workplace for possible emergencies. Those action steps are: Make a Plan, Build a Kit, Get Trained, Volunteer and Give Blood.

“In today’s climate, it’s more important than ever that all of us be prepared for possible emergencies. Natural or other disasters can strike suddenly, at any time and anywhere. But by taking these five steps, everyone can help make a difference in their lives and the lives of their families and neighbors,” Cordelia Miller, director of emergency services for the Red Cross, says.

The two-hour presentation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 7, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and again on Tuesday, Aug. 10, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the first floor conference rooms at the Red Cross, 2200 Avenue A, Bethlehem. For directions, visit www.redcrosslv.org.

To register, call (610) 865-4400, ext. 247. It is recommended that children be at least 11 years of age and accompanied by an adult.
