All Blood Types Are Below a Two-Day Supply

Your blood donation is needed now.

As of Sept. 7, blood inventory at the American Red Cross Blood Services, Northeastern Pennsylvania Region was below a two-day supply. Of the eight types of blood, five were below a one-day supply: O-Positive, A-Positive, AB-Positive, O-Negative and A-Negative.

The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley urges residents to mark their calendars to donate blood on Thursday, Sept. 16, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Nesquehoning Recreational Center, West Railroad Street, Nesquehoning.

Most healthy people who are at least 17 years of age, and who weigh 105 pounds or more, are eligible to donate blood. Donors are required to wait 56 days between donations. For more information, please call 1-800-GIVE LIFE. Please bring some form of ID.
