The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley elected four new board members at its annual meeting held September 30 at the Green Pond Country Club in Bethlehem.
Elected to the board for a three-year term are: Peter Brown, vice president of Lafayette Ambassador Bank; Frank DiBiaso, vice president of finance at Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital in Lehighton; Robert M. McGovern, executive vice president and senior trust officer of Nazareth National Bank & Trust Co.; and Charmaine Rundle, a licensed practical nurse at Gracedale County Home.
"We are pleased to have these individuals join our board," said Richard Perrotti, chairman of the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley. "We welcome their talents and expertise and believe that each individual will be a fine addition to the board."
Board members re-elected for three-year terms are: Jane Leary, Volvo North American Trucks; Judith Savchak, Harleysville Wealth Management; and Patti Gates Smith.
Ben Boylston, Bethlehem Steel retiree, was re-elected for a two-year term.
The board officers for 2002-2003 are: Richard Perrotti of Legg Mason, Chairman; Joseph Stockunas of Air Products and Chemicals, vice chairman; Bob Gedney, secretary; and Barbara Bigelow of the City of Allentown, treasurer.
Other Red Cross board members include: Donald Bauman, Bethlehem Steel Corp.; Clayton Bond, Clayton Bond Consulting; Terry Capuano, Lehigh Valley Hospital; Jon Conrad, Moravian College; James Dunleavy, Sacred Heart Healthcare Systems; Deborah Evans, Moravian College; Joseph Fritz, Binney & Smith, Inc.; Julio Guridy, Fleet Bank; James Harper, Northampton Community College; S.K. Hammi Kapoor, IKN, Inc.; Susanne Kauffman, Past Chapter Chair; Jose Perna, Saucon Valley Mortgage Company; Tyrone Reed, Alvin H. Butz, Inc.; Joseph Seaver, Kovatch Mobile Equipment; and John Yanek, PPL.
The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley serves more than 660,000 residents in Carbon, Lehigh and Northampton counties. Last year the Red Cross provided health and safety education training and emergency relief services to nearly 20,000 Greater Lehigh Valley residents.
