Richard A. Perrotti, senior branch manager-Eastern Pennsylvania for Legg Mason, was elected to a two-year term as chairman of the board for the Lehigh Valley Chapter, American Red Cross, effective July 1. Perrotti succeeds Susanne Kauffman who served as chairwoman from 1999-2001.
Perrotti joined the local Red Cross board in 1996 and served most recently in the positions of board vice chair and chairman of the development committee.
"Rich is an outstanding member of the Red Cross board," said John Hughes, executive director. "Our organization and the community at large are fortunate to have someone like Rich in the top volunteer leadership position at Red Cross."
"As chairman, my goal is to simply secure additional financial and volunteer resources for the Lehigh Valley which will effectively address critical community needs," Perrotti commented.
Perrotti has 33 years in the investment industry. Prior to joining Legg Mason in 1991, he worked at Merrill Lynch locations in Florida, Virginia and Detroit.
Perrotti lives in Allentown with his wife Carol. The couple has three children.
