Be a Red Cross Hero

What is the Heroes Campaign?

The Heroes Campaign, held each March, is an excellent way for our chapter to raise the funds necessary to help support local disaster relief, services to our military, preparedness and training and other critical needs. The goal is to involve as many people from our community as possible.

The 2012 Heroes Campaign, under the leadership of June Webre of Team Capital Bank, raised an astonishing $61,842.91. Read more.

People of all ages can serve as Heroes. Heroes pledge to raise $1,000 each for the Red Cross during this grassroots fundraising and awareness campaign which is held each March. If you're up for this challenge, you can raise the money personally, as an organization, or by hosting a fundraising event. All money raised here stays here.

What's in it for me? (Glad you asked!)
  • The best feeling in the world knowing that you helped change someone's life, including your own.
  • Your picture or company/organization's logo in the newspaper.
  • An invitation to a yummy kick-off breakfast!
  • A chance to make a big, lasting difference in our community.
  • Bragging rights!
  • An invitation to the celebratory lunch.

$1,000 can cover the cost of . . .
  • 167 blankets for people affected by a disaster.
  • Clothing for nine children who lost their clothes in a house fire.
  • Meals and lodging for five days for a family of three displaced from their home.
  • A babysitting skills class for 14 youth.
  • Training 11 individuals to learn how to help someone in a cardiac or breathing emergency.
Examples of how to raise the money include: individuals collecting pledges from friends and family through online social networking, clubs holding car washes, a business holding a dress down day, or you asking your friends, neighbors, relatives or colleagues to make you a Hero. Everyone can be part of this grassroots campaign by donating a dollar for a Red Cross Square.

Please join our efforts to help our neighbors by becoming a "Hero for the American Red Cross" today. For more information, please contact Ana Vega, development associate at (610) 865-4400, ext. 261.

All money raised here, stays here to help people in the greater Lehigh Valley who need Red Cross services.
Thank you for all your help and efforts to support the mission of the
American Red Cross!
