Back Injury Prevention
Recent studies have shown that four out of five adults will suffer from back pain at some stage in their lives. This session will help you understand the anatomy of the back and the causes of back pain and help you identify and reduce the risk factors for back injury. You will also learn how to perform simple exercises for stretching and strengthening neck and back muscles to prevent back injury and identify ways to change personal habits to avoid back injury.
Ergonomics
This session will give individuals the knowledge and skill necessary to identify and reduce the risk of injuries associated with repetitive strain or damage to muscles, tendons, nerves and joints.
Managing Stress
Every one of us experiences stress at some point in our lives -- when we work, travel, spend time with family and friends. This session will help you recognize the causes and signals of stress and develop personal strategies for managing stress.
Slips, Trips, & Falls
Approximately 20% of all nonfatal occupational injuries and workman's compensation claims are associated with slips, trips, and falls. This session will give you the knowledge and skills to identify and reduce the risk of these types of accidents.
Workplace Violence Awareness
Approximately 2 million assaults and threats of violence occur each year in the workplace. This session will help you recognize the categories of workplace violence, identify warning signals, of potential workplace violence, and reduce your risk of becoming a victim of workplace violence.
Your Heart Matters
Coronary heart disease can limit opportunities to work productively and enjoy a full personal life with family and friends by significantly reducing your life-span. This session will help you recognize the signals of a heart attack, identify factors that may leave you at risk for coronary heart disease and help you develop a plan to reduce your risk of suffering from the disease.
