Fundamentals of Instructor Training
This training is a prerequisite to all Red Cross instructor specialty courses.
Participants will be introduced to the history, structure and activities of
the American Red Cross. Instructor candidates will learn the policies and
procedures of the American Red Cross to ensure consistent, quality delivery
of course material and the appropriate methods of reporting class
information.

Babysitter's Training Instructor
This course trains instructor candidates to teach the American Red Cross Babysitter's Training course. Candidates prepare to use course materials, conduct training sessions and evaluate the progress of participants in a basic-level course.
This course includes Fundamentals of Instructor Training.
Prerequisites:
- Minimum age of 17 by the last day of class.
- All candidates are required to complete an instructor candidate application before admission into the instructor course.
- Candidates must pass the precourse written and skills exam. Call the chapter for details.

Lay Responder First Aid and CPR/AED Instructor
Upon completion of the Lay Responder First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor course, the
participant will be prepared to teach the following courses:
- First Aid/CPR/AED for the Workplace
- First Aid/CPR/AED for Schools and the Community
- Blended Learning First Aid/CPR/AED
- First Aid - Responding to Emergencies
- Sport Safety Training
This course includes Fundamentals of Instructor Training
Prerequisites:
- Candidates must successfully complete written and skills pre-test covering Adult & Child CPR/AED, Infant CPR, & First Aid. It is strongly recommended that participants receive this training less than 12 months prior to the course.
- Minimum age is 16 by the last day of the class.
- All candidates must complete an instructor candidate application and interview before admission into the instructor course. Call the chapter for details.

HIV/AIDS Education & Prevention Instructor
This course prepares instructor candidates to present information at community sessions to help the public learn skills to prevent HIV infection.
Candidates will learn to effectively facilitate skill-building activities that involve task groups, role-play, brainstorm, teachbacks, demonstration and practice.
Prerequisites: All participants must hold a current Fundamentals of Instructor Training, or current instructor certificate from another ARC program, and must hold a current certification for HIV/AIDS Starter Facts. Facts Practice is now an optional course. It is no longer a prerequisite for this course.

Lifeguarding Instructor
This course prepares instructor candidates to teach basic-level courses from the Lifeguarding program including Lifeguarding (with First Aid), Lifeguard Management, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Administering Emergency Oxygen, Bloodborne Pathogens Training: Preventing Disease Transmission and Basic Water Rescue courses. Instructor candidates will also become familiar with GuardStart: Lifeguarding Tomorrow and the Water Safety Presentations.
This course includes Fundamentals of Instructor Training.
Prerequisites: Successfully complete written and skills pre-test based on information from basic-level Lifeguarding and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. Call chapter for details. Must be at least 17 years of age on or before the last scheduled day of the instructor course.

Water Safety Instructor
This course trains candidates to teach the Infant and Preschool Aquatics Program; the seven levels of the Learn to Swim Program; and the Community Water Safety course. Candidates will learn how to plan and conduct lessons and evaluate progress of students.
Prerequisites: Must be at least 16 years of age by the last day of class, must hold a current Fundamentals of
Instructor Training or current instructor certificate from another ARC program and successfully complete written and skills pre-test. Call chapter for details.
