Learn To Swim
Learn how to swim and overcome your fear of the water in a fun and supportive atmosphere. Students will be grouped based on swimming ability. All instructors are certified Water Safety Instructors. Sign up for the level that’s right for you or your child. Students will be tested on the first day to be sure they are in the class that best suits their swimming ability.

Lifeguarding Meets ECC 2005 Guidelines!
This all-inclusive course teaches participants the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies at swimming pool facilities. The course content and hands-on activities prepare participants to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drownings and injuries. Participants will learn how to: identify behaviors of a swimmer, distressed swimmer, and an active or passive drowning victim, understand the components of an emergency action plan and how to activate it, understand the general procedures for an emergency occurring in the water or on land, perform equipment-based rescues, provide first aid and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, recognize and care for possible head, neck or back injuries. Participants MUST attend each session of a scheduled class in order to qualify for certification. Participants who cancel more than five business days before first date of a class will be entitled to a refund of class fee minus a $30 administrative fee. Cancellations less than five business days before start of class will forfeit entire class fee.
Prerequisites: Must meet minimum age of 15 before last day of class. Candidates must successfully complete swimming skills pre-test on the first day of class. Call chapter for details.

Lifeguarding Review
The purpose of this class is to give individuals the opportunity to review the course content within a formal class setting and renew their certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. This format optimizes the participant’s ability to successfully complete the knowledge and skill evaluations. Participants who cancel more than five business days before first date of a class will be entitled to a refund of class fee minus a $30 administrative fee. Cancellations less than 5 business days before start of class will forfeit entire class fee.
Prerequisites: Candidates must complete successfully complete a swimming skills pre-test on the first day of class. The participant must have successfully completed an American Red Cross Lifeguarding course within the last 4 years and a CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer course within the last 2 years. Lifeguard Training Challenge
For individuals who wish to be recertified in Lifeguard Training and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. This course is a knowledge and skills testing session only. It is not a reveiw or teaching session.
Participants must be prepared to demonstrate their knowledge and ability in all of the skills coveredin the Lifeguard Training. Candidates must bring a pocket face mask to class.
Prerequisites: Prior certification in Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent.

Waterfront Lifeguard Training
This course teaches lifeguards the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to emergencies at a waterfront facility. Participants will learn to describe conditions that affect surveillance at a waterfront. Learn skills needed for special rescue situations such as missing person procedures, searching for a scuba diver, and cold water rescue.
Prerequisite: Current certification in Lifeguard Training and CPR for the Professional Rescuer.

Lifeguard Management
This course provides participants with the skills & knowledge needed to effectively manage lifeguards and to create an environment that keeps patrons, lifeguards and the aquatic facility safe.

Water Safety Today
The purpose of this course is to teach individuals how to recognize, prevent, and respond to emergencies in, on, or around the water. Participants will learn how to identify the hazards and risks that are present in an aquatic environment and discuss safety tips that will help them remain safe in, on, or around the water. Specific environments will be discussed such as home pools, lakes and rivers, spas, and waterparks. The participants will be able to identify and practice important basic lifesaving techniques that can be used to help someone who is in trouble in the water. The benefits of learning how to swim and identify positive ways that parents and caregivers can prepare their child for a positive swimming lesson experience will also be examined.

Lifeguarding Instructor
This course prepares instructor candidates to teach basic-level courses from the Lifeguarding program including Lifeguarding (with First Aid), Lifeguard Management, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Administering Emergency Oxygen, Bloodborne Pathogens Training: Preventing Disease Transmission and Basic Water Rescue courses. Instructor candidates will also become familiar with GuardStart: Lifeguarding Tomorrow and the Water Safety Presentations.
This course includes Fundamentals of Instructor Training.
Prerequisites: Successfully complete written and skills pre-test based on information from basic-level Lifeguarding and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. Call chapter for details. Must be at least 17 years of age on or before the last scheduled day of the instructor course.

Water Safety Instructor
This course trains instructor candidates to teach the Basic Water Rescue course, the six levels of the Learn to Swim Program, Parent and Child Aquatics, and Community Water Safety presentations. Candidates will learn how to plan and conduct lessons and evaluate progress of students. This course includes Fundamentals of Instructor Training.
Prerequisites: Must be at least 16 years of age by the last day of class and successfully complete water and swimming skills pre-test. Call chapter for details.
