| Together We Prepare Saturday |

September is National Preparedness Month and the American Red Cross of the
Greater Lehigh Valley is proud to once again bring you "Together We Prepare
Saturday." The event will be held on September 24, 2005 at Calvary Temple, 3436 Winchester Road in
Allentown (just off Route 22 and Cedar Crest Boulevard), and is open to adults
and children grades 6-8.
Register for one of three training classes and presentations:
- Adult CPR/AED Training - from 9
a.m. to 2 p.m. The hands-on program is taught by certified Red Cross instructors
and uses manikins and first-aid materials and equipment. Learn how to provide
care for breathing emergencies and perform CPR for victims of sudden cardiac
arrest who are over 8 years of age. Also covered is training in the use of an
Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Participants may audit the course or be
certified by passing a written test following the class. Class size is limited
to 150.
$5 registration fee.
- Preparing for the Unexpected
(for adults) - from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Learn the five action steps that you
can take to be prepared for possible emergencies.
Free.
- First Aid and Preparedness
(children grades 6-8) - from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Learn the concepts of
emergency preparedness, including the five action steps you can take to be
prepared for possible emergencies.
Free.
You must be registered to attend; no walk-ins, please. Deadline for registration
is Sept. 16. Space is limited. Sorry, no refunds for CPR/AED Training
registrations.
