The American Red Cross is a lifeline for deployed military members, allowing them to communicate with loved ones back home during emergencies. We also provide social services, emergency travel, financial assistance and mental health support for our returning troops and their families. You can help the Red Cross help military families with a gift to Red Cross Services to Armed Forces. ![]() Last fiscal year (July 2006-June 2007), the Greater Lehigh Valley Red Cross provided more than 1,100 emergency connections and reached out to 1,900 members of the armed forces and their families through our "Get To Know Us" program to brief departing service members and their families on available support services and explain how the Red Cross can assist them during the deployment. In addition, Red Cross helped facilitate grants totaling $10,388 in emergency assistance to veterans, military personnel and civilians. Make a donation to the Greater Lehigh Valley Service to the Armed Forces. You may also contact Sandy Gaspar, director of development at 610-865-4400, ext. 258 or at GasparS@usa.redcross.org, to learn more about contributing to the SAF program.
