Are you interested in hosting an event or conducting a fundraising effort to benefit the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley?
Any corporation, community group, school or individual can host an event or fundraising effort to benefit the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley, the National Disaster Relief Fund or International Response Fund. The event or initiative is planned and executed by the corporation, community group, school or individual hosting the activity. The American Red Cross cannot provide volunteers, publicity or material support for a third-party event. The group making the donation will receive a receipt. Please make sure that your donors and sponsors understand that anyone making a cash donation to the third-party fundraising event or initiative will not receive an individual receipt from the Red Cross as we will not be able to track who made each of the individual donations. Only donations made by check or cash donations made directly to a Red Cross office or employee/volunteer will receive a receipt. The Red Cross greatly appreciates the generous spirit of the American public, but we must also consider all third-party proposals carefully to ensure they are in line with the programs, services and image of the American Red Cross. We understand that people have the best of intentions and want to make a difference. Therefore, we will review each proposal carefully, but there is no guarantee of approval. Please contact Sandy Gaspar, director of development at 610-865-4400, ext. 258 or at GasparS@usa.redcross.org in regard to your proposal. If the activity is approved, we will prepare a Third-Party Fundraising Agreement setting forth the terms and conditions of your relationship with our chapter with respect to the fundraising event or initiative.
"Teen's Racing Talent Drives Up Red Cross Donations" A volunteer or donor is only as good as what they can bring to the table; whether it is money, time, or an extraordinary talent from their walk of life. Ian Williamson, 14, has a talent that helped him raise $1,435 for the American Red Cross. ![]() Williamson's trade of choice is Quarter Midget racing, a form of automobile racing. The cars are approximately one quarter the size of a full-size midget car and they race on oval tracks about 1/20 of a mile. For the past two years, Ian has participated in a Red Cross fundraiser hosted by The Executive Forum of the Lehigh Valley and held at the Lehigh Valley Grand Prix in Allentown. Ian, who has been racing competitively since 2004, chose this event because "I wanted to help the Red Cross." Former board member Brad Greenawald, also an avid racer and a good friend of the Williamson family, asked Ian to be on his team. "Ian is an excellent racer and I knew with him on our side we would get a great pole position and raise more money," said Brad. For more information about this annual fundraising event, contact Ken MacKenzie, Red Cross board member and president of The Executive Forum of the Lehigh Valley. Ken is associate vice president of investments at Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Inc.
