Clara Barton Society

The American Red Cross was founded by Clara Barton during the Civil War. Her compassion and determination were expressed in active volunteer service then and continues today in our mission by honoring her work through the Clara Barton Society -- recognizing individuals or couples who demonstrate an annual financial commitment of at least $1,000 in support of the humanitarian work of our local chapter.

Membership in the Clara Barton Society recognizes total annual giving in support of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter. All gifts -- cash contributions, securities, and/or property -- are acknowledged toward membership in the Society.

As an active partner in our work, you will learn exactly how your contribution helps those in need. We'll gladly answer any questions you may have about your membership or your plans for giving.

Society members receive a special newsletter four times a year and an invitation to the annual reception honoring the generosity of Society members and celebrating the efforts of the campaign cabinet. Society members will not receive any additional solicitations after their annual commitment to the Clara Barton Society.

Levels of membership are:

  • Bronze $1,000 - $2,499
  • Silver $2,500 - $4,999
  • Gold $5,000 - $9,999
  • Platinum $10,000+
Your gift may be paid in one sum, quarterly or monthly. Check or credit card is accepted. Please make check payable to American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley and mail to the attention of Sandra A. Gaspar, director of development, 2200 Avenue A, Bethlehem, PA 18017. To pay by credit card, please call Sandra A. Gaspar, director of development, at 610-865-4400, ext. 258.

and services to nearly 700,000 residents in our community.
