Preparedness & Training For more than century, the Red Cross has been helping people save lives through Preparedness and Training classes. Red Cross training can give you the skills and confidence to prepare you to prevent and respond to life-threatening emergencies. From CPR, first aid and automated external defibrillator training to injury prevention courses and aquatics, Red Cross training offers complete, flexible programs that help you stay prepared for virtually any life-threatening situation.
Disaster Response Disaster response training courses are open to the public but are designed primarily for those individuals wishing to begin or continue training for the local Disaster Action Team (DAT) or the National Disaster Services Human Resources (DSHR) System. All courses are free of charge and are taught by trained Red Cross disaster volunteers and employees.
International Services Our International Services courses and presentations are suited for community members interested in learning more about Red Cross response to disasters around the world, for high school and college students studying international affairs, for people with family members overseas, and for anyone interested in further involvement with the Red Cross, as well as for Red Cross volunteers and paid staff. All classes are offered free of charge.
