Enjoy a variety of free food and beverages as you walk through different rooms to learn about your American Red Cross! Do you know what to pack in a home emergency supplies kit? Test your hand-washing skills to stop the spread of germs. Pen a note to U.S. armed forces personnel. Learn about our Lifeline personal response system, our preparedness and training classes and more! There will also be raffles and donations! (to support the American Red Cross) - August 8, 2010 Patriots Park, 1026 St. John Street, Allentown, 4 - 7 p.m. The Allentown Patriots Old Timers Blue Softball Team will go to bat against The Morning Call All Stars Softball Team in a game of slow-pitch softball to benefit the American Red Cross on Sunday, Aug. 8. The action takes place at beautiful Patriots Park, 1026 St. John Street, Allentown. Game time is 4 p.m. However, the excitement begins early when gates open at 3 p.m. with all sorts of free fun activities for the kids, silent and live auction items, raffle prizes and more! The refreshment stand features a wide variety of great food at reasonable prices. Admission is free. Rain date is Saturday, August 14 at 4 p.m. Come cheer on your favorite team and support the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

We were honored to have Winnie Romeril, American Red Cross Haiti volunteer, as our special guest speaker. Winnie deployed to Port-au-Prince, Haiti to respond to media requests during the first two weeks following the Haiti earthquake. She coordinated with the American Red Cross Head of Haiti Delegation, Federation delegates and Haitian Red Cross to conduct interviews in English and Spanish to national and international press corps.
