Having trouble finding out about benefits? You are not alone. Older adults face major obstacles in gaining access to local, state and national benefits.

The Lehigh Valley Alliance on Aging, with local support from the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley and Verizon, has teamed-up with the National Council on Aging to make finding and securing benefits possible for more than 114,000 older adults in the greater Lehigh Valley.

Through a free and confidential service called BenefitsCheckUp, older adults can now screen themselves from more than 1,000 federal and state benefits in the privacy of their own home through the Internet.

It's easy. Click on BenefitsCheckUp. There you can find out more about what benefits you may be eligible for, where to apply, and what forms and documents are needed to apply. You can conduct your own screening right online. If you or a loved one do not have easy access to the Internet, call the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley at (610) 865-4400 and one of our representatives will help you.
